Fairfax County On-Call Surveying

Bowman Consulting performed general surveying services under this open-end Surveying and Mapping Term Contract for Fairfax County. This contract provided up to $99,000 of services a year in the areas of property and topographic surveys for design; Property boundary surveys; construction stakeouts; and property plats indicating right-of-way and/or easement requirements. Specific tasks may include the following services:
- Boundary Surveys
- Field run Topography
- As-built Surveys
- GPS Control
- Aerial topography with supplemental field run topography
- Route surveys
- Record Plats
- Easement plats
One initial task of the contract supported the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Academy for preparation of a detailed topographic survey of the site. Two-foot contour intervals will be established by aerial photogrammetric methods were supplemented with field run detail. This task also included:
- Establishment of horizontal and verticl around the site for survey control for topography
- Prepare as-builts on all storm sewer and sanitary sewer on site and one structure up and down stream of site limits
- Locate water valves, meters and paint markings along with other utilities marked on site (to be marked by others)
- Show all improvements on the site
- Annotate aerial topography by others
- Deliverables included one Mylar at 1”= 30’ and a digital file in AutoCAD 2000 format on a CD
