Winchester Green Circle
City of Winchester

The Winchester Green Circle Project is a walking and biking trail following Town Run and Abrams Creek, encircling the City of Winchester. The project provides safe bike and pedestrian facilities for the entire community while connecting parks, neighborhoods, schools and tourist attractions.

After receiving a grant from the State, the City of Winchester contacted Bowman Consulting to assist in the development and implementation of two bio-retention facilities, including an innovative rain garden, to reduce stormwater run-off on the site. The facilities when complete will be the first ever installed in the City. Services for the rain garden include performing a topographical survey to establish the location of exiting trees throughout the site and to establish a site for the facility. Construction plans for the rain garden has also been provided, processed through the DEQ and saw through issuance.

In addition, Bowman Consulting is coordinating extensively with the Winchester Garden Club to determine the most suitable plant materials to install in the rain garden facility.
