Bowman Consulting's staff provided civil engineering design services for the Wells Fargo Center development in downtown Norfolk. This multi-use project encompasses an entire city block and includes a 22-story office tower, two parking garages, residential and retail buildings, and a future symphony hall. Work in this urban environment required extensive coordination with existing public and private utilities and their owners; and with concurrent public infrastructure upgrades under design and construction immediately adjacent to the project site, including public utility system extensions and light rail line/station. Services provided included engineering study services, site plan development in coordination with project architects and contractors, detailed site grading and drainage design, detailed utility design, stormwater permitting, LEED design, and construction administration services.
