Bowman Consulting Expands to Virginia Beach
Chantilly, VA — Bowman Consulting is pleased to announce that it has acquired Massey Design & Associates, PC, based in Virginia Beach, as part of its strategy to better serve the Tidewater region of Virginia. Massey Design was established in 2003, and provides civil engineering services to public and private sector clients with a specialization in streetscape planning and design. Massey Design & Associates (MDA) was instrumental in the development of major projects in and around the Virginia Beach area including streetscapes, college and university projects, commercial developments, and recreational facilities.
Clayton Massey, PE, founder of MDA, is a leading expert in streetscape planning and design, urban renewal, and has a wide range of related professional experience. His articles have appeared in Urban Design, Civil Engineering Magazine, and other local, regional, and national publications. He has presented several papers on streetscape planning and design at National APWA, regional ITE, regional City Managers Conferences, and at the Virginia Downtown Development Association among others. Mr. Massey has served on a national ITE committee for developing policy on triple left turns, and currently serves on the Virginia Beach Resort Area Design and Review Committee. He is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, the Institute of Transportation Engineers, the American Public Works Association, and the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE). He and the MDA staff will work out of the new Bowman office in Virginia Beach at 1561 Bradford Road.
