Bowman Consulting acquires Phoenix-Based

Virginia-based Bowman Consulting Group has acquired a second Phoenix-area firm, DEI Professional Services LLC in Phoenix.
Bowman also purchased Tempe-based Vantage Resources LLC several months ago.
“We continue to be optimistic about Phoenix and excited about its strategic potential to our organization,” said Gary Bowman, president of Bowman Consulting.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Bowman is headquartered in Chantilly, Va., and is a land development, infrastructure and energy company. DEI is an engineering, planning and surveying firm with a 30-year history in the Phoenix area.
DEI brings 14 employees into the Bowman organization, which has about 290 employees.
DEI has deep experience in the design and development of master planned communities. It also handles highly technical surveying assignments like the Hoover Dam bypass and a $2 billion I-15 corridor project in Utah.
After purchasing Vantage, Bowman said the acquisition provided “a low risk, bite-sized move to get into the market.” Bowman now solidifies its position in Phoenix with the new purchase.
Bowman said he was particularly drawn to the Valley because it is a hotbed of alternative energy activity. The company has a significant geothermal practice.
