Orientation Sessions
Bowman Consulting Orientation Sessions provide employees with information on the company history -- through the eyes of its President, Gary Bowman, and provides employees with insight into the organizational structure and the functions that support its operations - Accounting, Finance, Human Resources and Marketing.
Employee Development Center
Bowman Consulting offers a variety of technical, professional and management training offerings through its Employee Development Center. These offerings are presented on a monthly basis by external vendors and current employees. The training offerings range from professional in nature -- Interview Workshops, Bowman's Business Model, Marketing 101, or Proposal Writing - presented by current employees, to more targeted subjects such as CAD training, Microsoft Office products, Adobe Photoshop, basic supervision/management training as well as Leadership Development training for senior level management. The Employee Development Center is constantly reviewing and updating its training offerings. We encourage our employees to seek opportunities to grow professionally and to realize their full potential.
Martin-Simonds Leadership Program
Bowman Consulting offers a two-year leadership program for selected management-level employees. This program is a systemized approach to help develop attitudes, knowledge and skills needed for leadership in an engineering environment. The program is conducted over a one and a half day session each quarter for a group up to 20 employees. Participants go through the duration of the program as one cohort group. They are involved in developing their own individual Development Plan based on special assessment tools, as well as participating in teambuilding activities, and outside reading assignments to expose participants to theory and practices to leading a professional organization.
Managing Your Career Program
An individualized program suited for individuals who have a couple years of experience and are unclear of what they want to do next in the organization (up is not always the only way) and individuals who are at mid-career. Individuals will work one on one with HR, through a formal process, to explore values, strengths, critical skills, etc. that will enhance the employee's ability to better self manage one's career and identify possible options and next steps as it relates to these learnings.
Through a number of sessions, an employee will carefully takes a holistic approach to career management in order to better understand who they are, what they enjoy and value, as well as what types of roles they are best suited. The focus is not on position or title, rather on what responsibilities and values are important and how that applies to current and future career direction.
From this process, an individual should be able to more effectively create a 1-3-5 year career development plan for themselves and use this plan to identify what new things they should learn, what training and education may be required, priorities, etc.
Team Enhancement Program
The Team Enhancement Program is a development option designed for work teams in the organization. No matter where you work in the company, no matter what you do, you are part of a team. Through taking assessments like Myers Briggs Type Indicator "MBTI", teams are lead through an exploration process of self and team awareness. Over an 8 month period, the team meets 4 times and through activities and discussion, team members learn to understand and appreciate different styles and approaches to work and how to use this data to enhance team effectiveness. This program is best suited for teams comprised of between 4 and 12 team members.
Leadership Coaching Program
The Leadership Coaching Program is an integrated program tailored for individuals who are in key leadership roles throughout the organization. These leaders are ready to take the next step in their personal development. Through a customized approach, we provide one-on-one leadership coaching that enhances the individual's self awareness and self learning. The benefits associated with leadership coaching transcend the individual by positively impacting business performance results.
Tuition Reimbursement
As part of its benefit package, Bowman Consulting offers tuition reimbursement to full time regular employees for coursework and related fees.
Professional Registration and License Fees
Bowman Consulting encourages employees to seek professional registration in the professional fields of the company. The firm will support registration or licenses during an individual's employment if it has a direct impact on the employee's ability to perform his or her job.

Bowman Consulting supports employee participation in a professional organizations, societies and community groups.
